Recreational Catch Per Unit Effort (CPUE)
Mean daily harvest rates in the recreational fishery were highly variable around the state, ranging from 0.78 lobster per day in Area 4 to 3.14 in Area 4 in the 2020/21 season. Stock abundance and fishing pressure (including commercial activity), along with differing regional bag limits and the relative mix of fishing methods used, represent key factors contributing to this regional variability.
